About SAIPhotography

Sai (Saira Awan) is a freelance photographer based in London.  Her passion for the visual arts is what pulled her into the photography world and is what has kept her there.

She has had numerous commissioned pieces of work published ranging from food to fashion to celebrity press shots.

Her two main areas of interest are unit photography (production and marketing stills) for film/music and portraiture work (including headshots for actors, models and performers) whether this be in the studio or on location.

As well as doing commissioned photography work for corporate companies and individuals, she also deals with image manipulation and restoration (please contact Sai at info@saiphotography.com for further information on this).

Sai has exhibited her work in numerous venues across Europe including: BAFTA head office in London (UK), No Label festival in Utrecht (Netherlands) and Roots and Routes in Lille (France).

As well as working in the UK, Sai is involved with a youth project which covers 10 European countries.  The project allows talented youth from all the countries involved to take part in workshops and performances in different Cities.  Sai has progressed from being one of the selected ‘talents’ to represent the Uk to becoming a trainer in the field.

Exhibition, shooting and fun…

Hi everybody…its been a while I know…my apologies. I’m going to try and keep this more regular from now on.

I haven’t just been lazing around iv been a busy bee working on several projects so here’s the low down on just some of them:

Florence, Italy: I have just returned from Italy where I had my 4th international exhibition and was very proud to be able to showcase my work there and have great feedback from everybody. The exhibition was held at the cultural centre in Firenze (Florence).

Whilst there I was also working on an ongoing transnational project that I mentioned in an earlier post and it is coming together very nicely indeed…next stop for this project is in Germany in August.

I will also be traveling to Barcelona, Spain in September to showcase ‘The Funkin Circus’ which is a hip-hop based circus performance, it will be touring different festivals across Europe. It sounds crazy but in reality it is far more weird and wonderful ?. I will put up a preview of one of the posters created for this as soon as one is available.

I have also been shooting in the studio and some new images have just been uploaded onto the ‘portraits’ section. I have loved working with many make up artists, hair stylists and stylists but want to give a special mention to Sima Rehman and Ru mel who are both amazing and lovely ladies.

Ok I’ve bored you enough, I will continue to bore you with my shenanigans another time.

But just before I go a quick shout out to Bianca Simmone and her upcoming release of her first single ‘pressure’. It’s a banger and I’m proud of her! I just wanted you all to know and to Ty and his amazing album ‘special kind of fool’ and the hot single ‘emotions’ which I was privileged enough to be at and shoot at the video of. .you can check the images on here soon but also at http://www.flavourmag.co.uk/ty-the-revolution-of-hip-hop

Heres the vid:

Ty \'Emotions\'

Went to show some support at Jazz café on Monday and I must say it was fantastic, not only Ty’s performance but also a number of other vocalists he had on stage…they blew me away. I also got to meet a couple of legends which was nice for a Monday evening I must say.

For now chiao!!!
